Bunny Rabbit hit the North Brooklyn streets in the 80's, her chassis overstuffed with heart-cut diamonds and her skin crafted from tarnished velveteen.
Back in those wholesome days of crack dependent dollies and kool-aid stained panties, Bunny carved ghetto harlequins into the forearms of teenaged lovers and etched cartoon hard core fantasies of my little pony playing doctor into the plastic windows of the J train. She polished her rhyming skills on street corner soapboxes and upturned garbage cans, lulling the rats trapped underneath into a deep sleep with her plastic pearl hymns and tantric tongue tied messages of spiritual devotion, with all the fervor of a naughty babysitter. In the great American tradition of Jesus, Abe Lincoln and Whitney Houston, Bunny is best experienced as an object of spiritual, emotional, and sexual consecration.
One sticky summer night a few years back, Black Cracker-- an obscure beatmaking proselytizer already known worldwide for her own brand of crunked ethos and rhythmic slurs-- hollered “Whad Up?” at Bunny from across the avenue. With this chance meeting came the new dawn of Bunny’s Ministry of Benevolent Perversion and the birth of their first recordings together. Lovingly compiled for the faithful, in sacred alliance with their devoted flock at Voodoo-EROS, Bunny Rabbit & Black Cracker’s debut album Lovers and Crypts descends February 2007.
Now Bunny Rabbit & Black Cracker have created the next chapter, BOOM BOOM!!, a new album is on the way that is a huge leap forward creatively and musically; the future of hip hop and pop music born out of today’s melting pot of influence and inspiration. BOOM BOOM!! is an arsenal of pop hits that are original, seductive, and totally infectious with a wink and a nod to the avantgarde. The provocative and visionary sounds of Bunny Rabbit & Black Cracker are now more realized than ever, and with three world tours, college radio chart-topping hits, and a devoted fan base, they are ready to dominate the music world.
